The 2 big series in our neck of the woods:
^Midwest Multisport: unparalleled events, brings out a combo of newbies and elites alike, and somehow gearwest Kevin figures out how to give out the best raffle gear (zipps! QRs! wetsuits!). I stay at every race till the end because one of these days I am going to hear the sweet words of Hector + zipps in one sentence.
” Tri MN Series: all Minnesota, all tris, it also has a great cast of races which take you to 9 of the best 10,000 lakes.
My races:
^ 5/20/07 - Gear West Du: Orono, MN - the season opener in my opinion. Some roller, some road running, some trail-running. Start your season right.
“6/9/07 - Liberty Tri: Maple Plain - Olympic & 1/2IM - I like it, so will you.
^ 6/24/07 - Lake Waconia Tri: Best of the U.S. qualifier (#1 m/f go to nationals to crown best amateur in the nation), short and sweet.
*ok not doing, but pumped for it! 7/14/07 - Lifetime Fitness Tri: the big dog - olympic athletes, top pros, and you. Covers some of the TC marathon course and keeps growing every year.
^ 7/15/07 - Heart of the Lakes Tri: Super nice course, tons of volunteers, a must.
7/21-22/07 - Spirit of Racine Sprint & 1/2IM:My 1st Half IM 2 yrs. ago, I like WI, & this year Aaron&Mer will race it to
8/12/07 - Green Lake Tri: one of the nicest lakes in MN, this will be a fun, fast one with Chelle before IMMoo.
8/26/07 - Chicago Triathlon:I’m not doing it, but I’ll be covering it video-style!
9/9/07 - Ironman Wisconsin: the “cheese-grater,” it blows away the notion of WI being a flat state with an ez course. Let’s see how the weather volatility shakes out for ‘07.
