MJET team interview at 2008 Hy-Vee Triathlon

I got the chance to interview the Batteries Plus Minnesota Junior Elite Team (MJET) team at the 2008 Hy-Vee Triathlon. Who are they? They are the first Junior Elite team to ever base themselves out of the Midwest, USA, and they comprise eight (4 girls/4 guys) promising young triathletes. Mr. Anthony Phillips placed 5th in the Saturday race! I have a different solo interview with him that I still need to edit. When you hear of the European teams that guys like Crowie grew up in, I immediately feel proud that now we have a team of younguns killing themselves out on the pavement before the legal age. Will some move on from the sport? Sure, but once again having more races, more teams, more MORE is what our sport needs. Just recently at the Best of US selection race for Minnesota Devon Palmer came in 2nd overall versus the best triatheltes in our state. Batteries Plus is their signature sponsor, but Quintana Roo, Zipp speed weaponry, and Gear West have been huge in supporting the MJET team. Anyway, keep your eye out for these kids – they will keep developing and getting up on the results board.
