All Triathlon, All the Time

Emma Snowsill Interview »« 3 years later

Lifetime Videos

Ok, just got back from some family bonding with my dad at Gorditas El Gordo (mexi place on lake street “little mexico). This afternoon right after work I headed over to the Lifetime Triathlon pro meeting where they were going to brief the athletes (and I was hoping to get some interviews).  Some interesting things:

1) Some europeans had questions about the bike course drafting (remember terrenzo last year?) and about the helmets.

2) One specific one had to do with the giro advantage.  The referee clearly point out that it is NOT LEGAL in the USA and that every helemt on race day better have the official sticker.  By the way, as an age grouper (and yes both aaron and I wanted one for christmas) I find it ridiculous to see pros on American soil wearing it when it is clearly illegal.  A pro today tried to discuss the euro standards vs usa standars on helemts – but in the end it is just fair that when you go another country you abide by their standards…

3) Seeing so many of the best triathletes in the world was umm humbling in that they all just looked good – mean, lean, fighting machines.

4) The lifetime people know their race back and forth – very detailed/professional – it was great to see the people at the pointy end of our sport getting treated right.

5) They actually get to pick their swim start line based on seniority from last year (ie Emma, then becky – on guys side Hunter Kemper 1st, etc).  I guess I just thought you lined up and hoped for the best.

Ok I will be working on the 3 video interviews I got (I hope to get more race day).  Emma, Becky, and Craig Alexander were all captured by the video camera chelle gave me a few years ago..so now I justt have to figure out how Imovie works…
