Cathy and Brian make us proud – USAT rankings!

Here is the news that Jerry over at midwestevents.com posted on his site today:
“Midwest Events congratulates reigning Minnesota Triathlete of the Year Cathy Yndestad of Apple Valley on being named 2007 USAT Athlete of the Year Honorable Mention. Hawaii’s Bree Wee was named AOY. Joining Cathy on the HM list were Arizona’s Katie Ellis, Illinois’ Jennifer Garrison, Hawaii’s Rachel Ross and Massachusetts’ Kim Webster.

Though his name will not be published on the USAT website and in press releases, Duluth’s Brian Bich was ranked 5th among US Masters triathletes in 2007. Only the MOY and three HMs will be published this year. Bich earned MOY HM honors in 2006 and is a two-time 40-44 National Champion. Florida’s Joe Bonness was named 2007 MOY and the “official” HM list consists of Californian Albert Boyce, Tennessee’s Bruce Gennari and Pennsylvanian Herb Spicer.”

Cathy had an amazing year finishing 2nd in Chicago behind Rachel Ross (of runlikeamother slowtwitch fame) and won the US Open down in Dallas. I could go on, but then you’d tell that I was even more biased for 10k lakes athletes. Yes it is completely my fault that I have yet to get Cathy or Bich on my video interview collection, but fear not interneto world – I will soon.
