Hy-Vee ITU World Cup: THE triathlon of this weekend

We are going down to Iowa to watch the most important triathlon of this weekend. No other race in the world is as important as this one down in West Des Moines Iowa. The Hy-Vee Triathlon will gather a spectacular field of triathletes, with those that claim these USA as their own vying for the one, last, four-years-in-the-making slot at Beijing Olympic Triathlon glory. While there were some issues regarding floods and finding a proper lake, that is hopefully all behind us and now we can focus on the race. I will try to upload tri media tonight, but I’m also expanding my twitter box so you can see more updates there live from my cellphone pumped directly to iwilltri.com

***For twitter updates which will have LIVE coverage of Hy-Vee go to my twitter page: twitter.com/hectorguatemala

Triathlon.org will have live updates during the race on Sunday – so make sure you get over there and check the site out. The age group race is on Sunday morning before the pros – last year we had 2 Minnesotans on the podium, and while Curt Wood won’t be around this year (good husband, good sherpa for wife running Grandma’s Marathon) Cathy Yndestad will and she has been flying this year.

Awesome, but I’m so jealous :0) that I can’t be there. They really pulled together to get this race on. Thoughts go out to ALL flooded communitites but can’t wait to see Potts and Kemper battle for the last spot. Thanks for the updates. Jim
