Finishing strong in a triathlon

This was supposed to be a longer post based on my experience at the Buffalo triathlon (race report still due).  But the main thing to ask yourself is this: when you see the 2 mile marker left do you get excited or do you think “gosh 2 miles left.” The only way to finish strong in a triathlon is if you practice it, again_and_again. So decide this summer that even if it’s hot, or it’s windy, or you are tired, pace yourself to finish strong – in every single triathlon I have ever seen those that finish best are those that do not fade.  Plus passing people in the last mile will give you more adrenaline than three red bulls with cherries on top.
