Brewhouse Triathlon Results and Firehouse 50 Results

The Brewhouse Triathlon in Duluth, Minnesota is a staple race and this year we saw David Thompson score a win and Becky Younberg take top honors.  Becky is making quite the comeback this year, out-dueling Marlo Crosby-McGaver, who took second, and Michelle Andres taking third.   Curt Wood rode as fast as David and finished second, while Brian Bich rounded out the podium in third – I think Curt will be happy with being the first amateur after completing the firehouse 50 the day before.  What is that race all about?

Well if racing the triathlon was not enough, Brian Bich, David Thompson, Kevin O’Connor, and Curt Wood rode as a team in the Firehouse 50, where they time trialed thru 50 miles of Wisconsin in 28.06 MPH on Saturday. To re-clarify things, those four went out to time trial 50 miles, then turned around the next day and all got on the podium.  Oh wait, but where was Kevin’s podium? He decided to do the Sunday Firehouse 50 run which is a 15km run and placed 3rd with a 55:34, right at 5:57 pace.  In simple terms, all four still had the 50 miler “in their legs” when they woke up Sunday to race – a handicap that apparently wasn’t that bad…
